Myrtle Beach Events: Top Picks For September

Labor Day has passed and we are entering the fabulous month of September. The weather during this first month of fall begins to cool slightly, offering more agreeable temperatures. Take advantage of the cooler, less humid weather by checking out some of the family friendly Myrtle Beach events. Check out what’s happening near Beach Cove Resort this month:

Dog Days of Summer Festival – September 13th

Kick back and relax as this lively event, held just up the road at La Belle Amie Vineyard. The Dog Days of Summer Festival bids adieu to summer and welcomes fall with open arms. The festival will feature live entertainment from local jazz artists, samples of current wine selections, plenty of snacks and hors d’oeuvres, and complimentary tours of the scenic vineyard. Guests are invited to bring a few blankets and chairs and settle in for an afternoon full of fun! The fun kicks off at noon and runs until 5pm. Call (843) 399-9463 for more information.

Oktoberfest Kickoff Party – September 22nd

Kick start your Oktoberfest celebrations early this year at Castano’s Italian Steakhouse! Though Castano’s is known for their traditional Italian cuisine, they do a fabulous job of recreating German classics. Nosh on decedent treats like bratwurst and sauerkraut, beer and cheese soup, fresh apple strudel, wiener schnitzel, poached pears, Bavarian pretzels, and much, much more. In addition, guests can look forward to live German music, Oktoberfest trivia, prizes and giveaways, and plenty of German beer. This festive event kicks off at 4pm and you won’t want to miss out on the fun! Call (843) 361-2000 for more information.

Irish Italian Festival – September 27th

Celebrate the combination of two unique cultures at the 11th annual Irish Italian Festival. This lively event takes place on Main Street and offers tons of family friendly entertainment. Enjoy live entertainment on one of the two performance stages, roaming street performers, local arts and crafts vendors, and fun contests like the spaghetti eating competition. And, one cannot forget about the authentic cuisine! Where else can you enjoy handmade pasta, zesty sausages with peppers and onions, shepherd’s pie, tiramisu, Irish coffee cake, and corned beef and cabbage – all one place? The fun runs from 10am – 4pm and this is a rain or shine event.
