Your 2017 Fall and Winter Beach Vacation
Although a summer trip to Myrtle Beach is the ideal vacation for many of our area guests, many actually prefer to visit the area during the “off-season”, for several reasons. The weather along the Grand Strand stays warm and sunny throughout the Spring and Fall seasons, meaning that you still have plenty of time to enjoy the beach; and, with winter temps still well-above northeastern United States averages, the beach often provides a much needed break from the snow for our snowbird visitors. The crowds have diminished and area attractions and restaurants often offer great discounts. Still not convinced? Well, we have put together a list that outlines all of the reasons why you should consider an off-season vacation in Myrtle Beach!
Ideal Weather
Not a fan of 100+ degree heat indexes and having to slather on sun screen every hour? Though summer at the beach is great, the temperatures can sometime be intolerable to those who can’t handle the heat and the sun can be unforgiving to those who neglect to take proper precautions. The off-season, however, offers slightly cooler temperatures and a less intense sun that makes lazy days at the beach ideal and enjoying the local attractions more enjoyable.
Fewer Crowds
Have you ever been on a vacation and felt like you spend more time standing in line for attractions and at restaurants than you do actually enjoying the ride or meal? This is not a concern in the off-season! The crowds have diminished, meaning that you will have more time to actually enjoy the attractions and will waste less time waiting around. Also, there will be plenty of room on the beach for your group to spread out and relax. Try bringing a few beach games out and enjoy the extra space!
Local Events
The summer is filled with fun, family friendly events but don’t think that the beach goes to sleep after the season is over! The off-season, particularly the fall, is full of exciting local events. Events range from concerts and festivals to art gatherings and holiday celebrations and everything in between. This fall, you can look forward to Halloween events, Oktoberfest celebrations, and an annual Oyster Roast – to name just a few.
Nearby Attractions
Many of the best Myrtle Beach area attractions are open year-round. Located near Beach Cove is Barefoot Landing, a dining and shopping destination. Use your Vacation Member Benefits Card to find discounts and deals on the shops and restaurants on site.
Fantastic Discounts
Visitors to the beach during the summer will pay prime price for their coveted oceanfront spot and for the popular local attractions and restaurants. However, during the off season, you can take advantage of a variety of great specials. Beach Cove offers a variety of seasonal specials and rates, making it easy for you to enjoy a Myrtle Beach vacation on a budget. Local attractions and restaurants also offer off season discounts and specials to entice visitors to the area.
