Memories

1992 was the year and our summer began with a wonderful announcement from our parents : "kids, get ready we're going on a family vacation to Myrtle Beach!"  We were all so thrilled and the planning began. 

Two weeks later with dad at the wheel, mom by his side, my younger brother and I in the backseat and a full loaded trunk, we began our journey to South Carolina.  We sang, we told jokes, we laughed and while on a pit stop in Virginia my mother bought a bottle of Southern Comfort and we got a bit tipsy in the back seat!

After a day and a half of driving we arrived at our destination: The beautiful Beachcove Hotel.  WoW! it was woth the long drive.  From the very begining I was impressed with the hotel just from the lobby where stood a huge vase filled with flowers.  The staff was amazing and they took us to our room.  A one bedroom with balcony overlooking the ocean. That room was so spacious and well decorated! Plus, the kitchenette came in real handy! I still recall sitting there at night, with my parents while my little brother slept.  One night in particual, there was a full moon shining over the ocean...it was breathtaking....

The beach in front of the hotel was clean and just beautiful and we enjoyed many hours in swimming and tanning.

This was 19 years ago and it lives in my memory as if it were just yesterday...Yesterday when my father was still alive to share those beautiful memories with me.  It was our last family vacation with our father.

Thank you so much Beach Cove, for the unforgettable memories!  I am hoping to come again soon, now that I have my own family and little ones!!!!
