Memories

My daughter Kayla was 5 years old the first time we went to beach cove. She never forgot it. Everytime we talk about old trips this is the one she has always brought up in the conversation. My Mom and I asked her why this trip was so special to her and she simply said because we just had so much fun and there where soooo many pools and the food was really good and my whole family was with me I just Loved it Mom. We just laughed. 

Well my five year old is now 17 and she is going to graduate soon. She has always been on the honor roll and has been nothing short of a wonderful and awesome young lady. So my Mom told my daughter this past August her graduation present to her would be a family trip to the beach cove this coming up summer. Her last summer home with us before she goes off to college. Kayla thought that would be awesome. 

But in September a month later My mom Judy Godwin Cothern from Wilmington, NC died in a horrible apartment fire. Kayla hasn't said anything about that trip my Mom was planning for us because she knows I cant afford it. It would be so nice to be able to take Kayla but our family has alot of healing to do since this only happen about 4 months ago. But who knows maybe we will still get to go and make some new memories for our family. That would be my wish for my daughter and I know it would make my Mom smile down on us.
