Memories
many memories
Amy Shimko • Frostburg, MD
When I was young, my family vacationed in Myrtle Beach every summer. My dad was a total beach bum when we were there. He loved to get up early and search the sand for sharks teeth and sea shells. He was completely at home when we were in Myrtle Beach. As a marine in Camp Lejeune, he fell in love with the coast and then he passed that love on to me. Some of my fondest memories with my dad were at Myrtle Beach, combing the seashore and finding more than shells to carry back home, we found peace and relaxation too. My dad has been gone about 7 years now and I keep those memories very close to my heart.
