Memories

My idea of a great summer vacation includes our annual family trip to the Beach Cove.  I have great memories of my kids participating in the Kid's Camp with crab races, t-shirt tye dye, fishing for crabs, olympic pool games, etc. 

My friend Julie asked me to tag along for her daughter's senior trip and was able to secure a "deal" at a condo in Pine Knoll Shores.  We stayed at PKS two nights- the girls were MISERABLE!  There was nothing to do-no pool, no shops, and god forbid, not a good looking 18 year old boy in sight!  On the second afternoon, the girls TOOK A NAP-they were that bored.

While they were sleeping, I drug out my laptop and looked up the number for Beach Cove.  I called to verify availability, and didn't even inquire about the rates, cuz at that point, I didn't care! So much for Julie's good deal, we couldn't get out of that place fast enough. 

We packed the car and we were off to Beach Cove!  While leaving PKS I got pulled over for speeding; the cop asked where we were going in such a hurry, and I told him that he wouldn't believe me if I tried to explain. He was very understanding and didn't even give me a ticket! 

We arrived at Beach Cove later that day, and the girls were in heaven, boys everywhere, and a beautiful resort to boot!  The girls spent the rest of the week enjoying the awesome beachfront and pools.  Julie and I, well...we spent our week at the poolside bar!  :)

Funny how the Beach Cove has met my needs across the years!
