Myrtle Beach Events Roundup: May


May is here and the area is bustling with activity! May marks the beginning of vacation season in Myrtle Beach and there are plenty of area events happening throughout the month to keep you busy. From local festivals to seaside concerts and lively Cinco De Mayo events, your posse won’t be short on family friendly activities. Check out some of the local happenings near Beach Cove Resort:



 



Taste of The Coast – May 3rd



This enticing annual event has a new venue at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex and promises to be bigger and better than ever! Restaurants from across the Grand Strand will be present and serving up their tastiest treats for guests to sample. There will also be live entertainment, roaming performers, and a spacious children’s play area, in addition to the multiple play areas that the sports complex offers. Admission to this tasty event is only $3 for adults and children 12 and under are free! The doors open at 11am and the event runs until 4pm.



 



Mayfest on Main – May 10th



This annual event marks the beginning of May and welcomes the longer days and warmer weather. The event takes place each year along Main Street in North Myrtle Beach, not far from Beach Cove Resort. The day will include live music, entertainment, games, local arts and crafts vendors, plenty of food and beverages, and lots of children’s activities. Gather your crew and come out for a good time! Music on Main – May 15th, 22nd, & 29th



This lively, summer long festival kicks off on Thursday, May 15th and runs each Thursday through September 25th. The fun starts at 7pm as the downtown area comes to life with live entertainment and family friendly fun that runs until 9pm. Families are encouraged to come dine downtown and then enjoy all that the North Myrtle Beach area has to offer. Guests can also bring beach chairs and blankets and scope out a spot along the beach to enjoy the live entertainment.



 



Blue Crab Festival – May 17th & 18th



Looking for an afternoon full of family friendly fun? Rally your group and head north to Little River and check out the Annual Blue Crab Festival. This festive will host an array of local and regional vendors (more than 200 total), live entertainment throughout the weekend, face painting and games, a kids zone, and – of course – lots and lots of crab! This waterfront festival is always a big hit and is the perfect way to get out and enjoy the spring weather. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the event.
