If you are lucky enough to be vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area during Cinco de Mayo, you won’t be short on entertainment. Since the famous Mexican holiday falls on a Sunday this year, you will have the entire weekend to rock a sombrero, drink margaritas, and enjoy live entertainment. Check out some of the local Cinco de Mayo festivities:
Carlos and Charlie’s
This venue will be the gathering spot for the Inaugural Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 5K run around Broadway at The Beach. The proceeds of this event will all be donated to Pee Dee March of Dimes and the Grand Strand Running Club. This event begins at 9:00am, meaning you will have plenty of time after to enjoy Carlos and Charlie’s classic Mexican cuisine and drink specials. They have live music throughout the day in addition to lively games and contests. Come out and support a great cause!
Conveniently located in The Market Common, Nacho Hippo will be offering fantastic specials all day Sunday as well as live music. Local favorite, Ten Toes Up, will be performing from 12pm-3pm and other bands will keep the party going throughout the afternoon. Specials include $2 Tacos, $3 House Margaritas, and $2 Bud Light Limes. What else could you need?
Banditos is going all out with a three day celebration! The fun starts Friday afternoon and lasts until Sunday evening. All three nights will feature different live bands performing throughout the day, a special fiesta menu, and drink specials. The staff is even rolling in traditional “street food” and tents with additional vendors.
Senor Frogs (Broadway at The Beach)
Senor Frogs is always a popular Broadway at The Beach favorite for great food and great parties in Myrtle Beach. The restaurant will be open for regular hours Saturday and Sunday, so swing by and fill up on some of their Mexican favorites and unique cocktails. Stick around, though, because at 10:30pm the restaurant will transform into a hopping nightclub. There will be live music and DJs, drink specials, and contests to make sure you have a fantastic fiesta!
If you are looking for the biggest Cinco de Mayo celebration then look no further than Burro Loco. This weekend long celebration starts Saturday with the second annual Stache Dash 5K. Pull out your finest mustache early because this race begins promptly at 9:30 am at Burro Loco and participants are encouraged to rock their best themed attire. The party really starts on Sunday, however, with the 16th Annual Burro Fest. This popular event features live music from 1:00-11:00, tons of food and drinks, interactive games, and family fun. This is truly an event you won’t want to miss and is a great way to spend a day with the family.
